Southend on Sea City Council seeks an experienced Preparing for Adulthood Casework Manager to lead our SEND team. You will oversee EHCPs, annual reviews and statutory processes, guiding young people from Year 9 onwards toward education, employment and independent living.

Working with schools, health and social care, you will shape local SEND strategy, manage high-cost placements and represent the Council at tribunals and inspections, ensuring meaningful outcomes for young people.

Competenze

• Educated to degree level or equivalent with SEND expertise.
• Proven track record in managing complex SEND casework.
• Experience with multi-agency partners to secure positive outcomes.

Mansioni

• Manage a team of Education, Health and Care (EHC) Coordinators and oversee EHCPs, annual reviews and statutory processes.
• Champion person-centred planning to help young people achieve education, employment, independence and health goals.
• Oversee complex casework, secure post-16 and specialist provision, and shape adulthood pathways.
• Lead local SEND strategy, monitor outcomes, manage high-cost placements and represent the LA at tribunals.
• Collaborate with schools, health services, adult social care, families and partner agencies.
