Job summary

EMED Group requires a Team Leader to support the Secure Mental Health Contract in Burgess Hill, Sussex. The role is full-time (37.5 hours weekly) with some on-call requirements, based across the contract and ensuring high-quality patient care.

You will oversee performance, compliance, and people management, delivering training, driving KPIs, and supporting recruitment and welfare across Ambulance Care Assistants. A regulated healthcare background is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulated healthcare logistics or patient transport contexts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven ability to drive KPIs in a regulated environment.
• Ability to coach and guide teams effectively.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
• Meticulous attention to detail in process and compliance.
• Remains calm under pressure and uses initiative when needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service by ensuring timely departure of Ambulance Care Assistants from base.
• Assist Compliance Team with Health and Safety base checks for full compliance of base and equipment.
• Co-ordinate Fleet activities with Fleet supervisor to ensure vehicle readiness and hygiene.
• Maintain up-to-date personnel records for payroll and annual leave accuracy.
• Support Contract Manager in KPI delivery and drive improvement initiatives.
• Conduct probationary reviews for Ambulance Care Assistants as per policy.
• Support investigations in employee relations cases with clear, concise cases.
• Monitor sickness absence and arrange cover for high absence levels.
• Participate in recruitment and selection per policies.
• Deliver Annual Skills Development training and conduct driving assessments as required.
• Conduct property risk assessments to ensure safe access for crews.
• Ensure workplace safety and model safe working practices for all staff.
• Act as an ambassador for diversity across the contract.
• Maintain visible presence across the contract and engage across locations.
