Job summary

Lonza, based in the United Kingdom (Slough), seeks a Lead Scientist to drive potency ELISA and cell-based analytics. The role emphasizes bench leadership, problem solving, and delivering high-quality, data-driven solutions in a fully site-based setting.

You will mentor junior scientists, introduce new technologies, and shape project directions in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in potency ELISA, cell-based assays, and SPR/Biacore, with proven project leadership

Qualifications

Degree or Master’s in Life Sciences or related field.
Strong lab experience in analytical or bioanalytical development.
Proven expertise in potency ELISA and cell-based assays, and SPR/Biacore data interpretation.
Experience leading complex projects across multiple teams and sites.
Clear communicator with mentoring and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and deliver multiple complex analytical projects with high-quality outcomes.
Lead implementation of new technology and customer-specific methods.
Act as a technical expert in potency ELISA and cell-based methods and/or SPR/Biacore.
Design, plan and execute complex experimental strategies translating customer needs.
Analyse data to generate robust scientific insights and project direction.
Present data, troubleshoot issues, and mentor junior scientists.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement; identify risks early and resolve them.
