Job summary

Preply is seeking a Senior Principal Applied AI Scientist to lead the development of AI-driven personalized learning solutions and shape our scientific roadmap. You will architect state-of-the-art models and systems, with autonomy and influence, reporting directly to the VP of Data and Applied AI.

You will mentor scientists and engineers, collaborate across product and engineering teams, and drive best practices in ML architecture, research roadmaps, and deployment pipelines at scale.

Qualifications

• PhD in NLP, IR, ML or related field.
• 8+ years of industry experience in deep learning-based NLP and IR.
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, and scalable ML systems.

Responsibilities

• Innovative R&D leveraging DL, NLP, IR, LLMs for personalized learning.
• Develop long-term scientific roadmaps aligned with product strategy.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineering to deploy AI solutions.
