Job summary

Wigan Council is seeking a School Chef for Tyldesley St George's Central CofE Primary School. This term-time role provides 30 hours per week with 38 weeks plus 6 days and 14 hours staff engagement, on a Grade 5 scale (£19,337 - £21,296 per annum).

You will lead catering staff, ensure quality control, and follow a rotating menu to deliver quality meals to pupils. You will work within the Local Kitchen, Transport & Road Safety service, benefiting from flexible patterns and a range of rewards and

• Passion for working with children in a school setting.
• Flexible and able to work with reduced kitchen staffing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise catering assistants.
• Assign work and train staff.
• Ensure quality control of all food and COSHH compliance.
• Maintain H&S and food safety standards.
• Follow a two-week rotating menu.
• Order food from LK approved suppliers and rotate stock.
