Job summary

AUAR, a London-based robotics and AI company, is seeking a Lead Robotics Engineer to steer the robotics software that powers the MicroFactory. You will work directly in the ROS 2 stack, review architecture and PRs, and guide a team of engineers toward reliable, scalable delivery.

You will own how product goals translate into technical plans, balance deep IC work with mentoring, and drive engineering throughput on real hardware in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Deep robotics software experience, shipped robotics software on real hardware.
• Greenfield track record: taken systems from early stages to working products.
• Strong C++ and Python proficiency for production robotics codebase.
• Architect complex robotics systems with multiple interacting components.
• Experience in real-world operation outside the lab.
• Understanding of the wider industrial stack: PLCs, sensors, actuators.

Responsibilities

• Lead robotics software engineering and delivery for the MicroFactory platform.
• Contribute to ROS 2 stack, review designs, and unblock engineers.
• Manage architecture, scope, dependencies, capacity and milestones.
• Mentor engineers and shape the robotics engineering organisation.
