Job summary

M&G plc is seeking a Risk Manager – Assurance & Insights to lead the Life Non-Financial Risk assurance execution and thematic assessments. You will provide independent opinions on risk profiles, control effectiveness, and remediation across Life, partnering with executive stakeholders to strengthen governance.

The role requires extensive experience in risk assurance, strong analytical skills, and the ability to coach others while delivering high-quality governance documents.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Operational Risk, Non-Financial Risk or Risk Assurance within financial services.
• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, governance, regulatory expectations and control environments.
• Experience leading assurance reviews, deep-dives and independent challenge activities.
• Ability to translate assurance findings into actionable business insight.

Responsibilities

• Lead targeted assurance and deep-dive reviews across material Life risk themes and business areas.
• Undertake thematic analysis of issues, events and risk information to identify recurring concerns.
• Lead root-cause and lessons-learned reviews, challenging management on risk drivers.
• Develop evidence-based risk opinions and insights for Executive and Board governance.
• Coach analysts in assurance techniques and high-quality reporting.
• Support cross-functional reviews coordinating SMEs across Life and central teams.
