Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking an experienced RF engineer to lead analogue and RF electronics development for airborne sensor systems, with emphasis on inter-vehicle data link design and system integration. The role can be based in Southampton or Bristol, working within the Integrated Sensing & Protection line and collaborating with partners and customers.

You will model architectures, simulate RF designs, and document configurations in Teamcenter while supporting lab demonstrator tests and lifecycle

Qualifications

• Experience in RF design from DC to 30 GHz (or close range).
• Experience advising PCB layout personnel.
• Hands-on RF test and measurement experience.
• Ability to use RF modelling and simulation tools.
• Ability to produce concise technical reports detailing design solutions.
• Experience in a high-technology defence environment and design reviews.
• Degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Willing to work collaboratively with mechanical engineers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver work packages focused on analogue and RF electronics including inter-vehicle data link design, system test and integration.
• Model proposed architectures to determine the optimal solution.
• Simulate RF design.
• Document design and configuration management in Teamcenter.
• Support laboratory hardware demonstrator development and test.
