Job summary

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Sister/Charge Nurse to lead a respiratory ward and the Respiratory HDU at Bradford Royal Infirmary. You will supervise staff, coordinate discharges and manage rotas, with flexibility to cover days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Requirements include an NMC registered Adult Nurse, a mentorship or teaching qualification, and evidence of CPD. Post-registration acute medical experience is essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Run the daily operation of the ward or unit and support junior colleagues.
• Oversee discharges, coordinating them to avoid delays.
• Manage nursing and clerical staff, rotas and ward administration.
• Assist Ward Manager to organise high standard patient care.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop and implement service improvements with the Ward Manager.
• Produce staff rotas and adapt skill mix to patient needs.
• Investigate and report incidents and safety concerns.
