Job summary

sjb medical seeks an exceptional Registered Manager to lead the launch and operation of a new children's home in the London Borough of Hackney. You will build a trauma-informed, therapeutic environment focused on stability, safety and positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

You will recruit and develop a high-performing team, work with Hackney Council, ensure Ofsted readiness, and model psychological safety and compassionate leadership in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Significant management experience within children's residential care.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and child development.
• Strong partnership-working skills with local authorities and external agencies.
• Commitment to anti-racist practice and challenging discrimination in all forms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, launch and operation of the home in Hackney.
• Recruit, develop and inspire a skilled staff team.
• Establish values and practices aligned with Ofsted and national standards.
• Prioritise psychological safety and relationship-based practice.
• Deliver high-quality care and positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Ensure children feel physically and emotionally safe and empowered.
• Build relationships with local communities and partner agencies.
• Drive continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery.
• Lead the home to achieve and sustain strong Ofsted outcomes.
