Job summary

Jupiter Recruitment is seeking an experienced Children's Home Registered Manager to open and lead a small children's home in Lewisham, SE London. The role requires a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare and a minimum of 3 years' experience in residential childcare, including 2+ years in senior roles.

You will lead a trauma‑informed team, ensure safeguarding compliance, manage budgets, and build external partnerships to deliver high‑quality care for young people

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare is required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in residential childcare.
• At least 2 years in supervisory/management roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide confident, trauma‑informed leadership to staff and young people.
• Create a safe environment promoting emotional, social and educational development.
• Recruit, induct and retain high-quality staff with suitable values.
• Oversee staffing, training, supervisions, and professional development.
• Promote continuous improvement and emotional resilience.
• Lead strategic planning and measurable outcomes in line with regulatory expectations.
• Maintain updated Statement of Purpose and ensure operations reflect its aims.
• Ensure full Ofsted compliance and Children's Homes Regulations.
• Lead safeguarding as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) per guidance.
• Manage budgets, audits, inspections, and operational processes.
• Build partnerships with families, professionals, and external agencies.
