Job summary

North Star Children's Homes in Leatherhead, Surrey, seeks a Registered Manager for a 40-hour-per-week permanent role. You will lead a child-centred team, ensuring Ofsted compliance and high-quality care for a settled group of children.

The post requires a Level 5 Diploma and proven experience with Ofsted registrations, safeguarding, and regulations. You will collaborate with authorities, schools and families to maintain and improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (essential).
• Experience with registration, Ofsted inspections, and supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted framework.

Responsibilities

• Hold registration with Ofsted and take overall responsibility for the home's care, compliance, and quality standards.
• Lead, develop, and supervise the staff team, building a stable and child-centred culture.
• Ensure care planning, risk management, and safeguarding practice meet the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
• Manage admissions, matching, and transitions so that placements are right for the children.
• Work closely with placing authorities, schools, health partners, and families.
• Drive continuous improvement in preparation for Ofsted inspection.
