Job summary

TECHNE in Cambridge, UK, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for propulsion systems. You will own real-time embedded software development close to hardware, spanning board bring-up, processor-level work, and application layer C++ development.

The role offers deep hardware interaction, with exposure to STM32, TriCore and i.MX8 processors, and collaboration across electronics, controls, hardware and systems teams to bring propulsion technology to life.

Qualifications

• Strong Embedded C/C++ experience across the full software stack.
• Real-time embedded systems development.
• Experience with microcontrollers and processors.
• Hardware debugging and validation skills.
• Low-power RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Micrium).

Responsibilities

• Develop real-time embedded software in C/C++.
• Develop application layer C++ software.
• Support board bring-up and hardware validation.
• Work with STM32, TriCore, i.MX8 or similar processors.
• Debug processor, board and hardware/software interaction issues.
• Support control software for propulsion hardware.
• Collaborate with electronics, controls, hardware and systems teams.
