Job summary

UKRI - UK Research and Innovation at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Harwell, Oxfordshire, invites applications for the Team Lead- Quantum Algorithms. This permanent role offers flexible working potential and a minimum of 0.8 FTE, with a salary of £67,409 gross per annum.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, drive quantum algorithms development, benchmarking, verification and error correction, and represent the team in UK and international collaborations.

Qualifications

• PhD level (or equivalent) in quantum computing, quantum information, or a closely related field.
• Experience and demonstrable track record of research in quantum computing or related field.
• Familiarity with APIs and tools for quantum computing research is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Leading the team developing quantum algorithms for quantum and hybrid workflows.
• Developing and delivering R&D activities in benchmarking, verification and error correction.
• Building workflows and methodologies across the full development lifecycle.
• Leading work to implement, test, evaluate and optimise algorithms on real quantum processors or emulators.
• Acting as a technical authority for internal and external stakeholders on quantum algorithms development.
