Job summary

Sphere Solutions in Plymouth is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to lead commercial aspects on refurbishment projects. You will price works, prepare tenders, and drive profitability from the outset, taking ownership of cost control across assigned schemes.

The role covers NHS, education, MOD and university projects; you will manage cost reporting, valuations, variations, and cash flow, while liaising with clients and project teams to deliver commercial success.

Qualifications

• Experience in refurbishment or building projects; commercially strong QS / Estimator.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates, tenders and project pricing
• Manage cost reporting, budgets and forecasts
• Prepare valuations and applications for payment
• Manage variations, subcontractor costs and commercial risk
• Understand and administer construction contracts
• Liaise with clients and project teams
• Support invoicing, cash flow and final accounts
• Provide commercial guidance to the wider business
