Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Manchester is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to deliver cost planning, budgeting and commercial oversight across major infrastructure programmes. You will administer NEC contracts, prepare forecasts, and support procurement and the supply chain to ensure value for money.

The role emphasizes strong stakeholder collaboration, cost analysis and governance across the project lifecycle, with opportunities for progression within a collaborative and inclusive team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of commercial management and cost control.
• Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
• Ability to analyse cost data and communicate risks clearly.
• Excellent stakeholder management and collaborative working style.
• Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• RICS accreditation in progress or desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cost planning, estimating and budget management from feasibility through to final account.
• Administer and manage NEC contracts, including early warnings, compensation events, and change control.
• Prepare accurate cost forecasts, cashflows, and monthly commercial reports.
• Support procurement activities including tender documentation, analysis, and contract preparation.
• Manage contractor accounts, including valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Provide commercial advice and challenge to support informed project decision-making.
• Build effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners.
• Support value management, benchmarking and cost assurance activities.
