Job summary
KLA Corporation’s SPTS division in Newport, UK seeks a highly skilled scientific engineer to lead development of PVD processes, design experiments, and drive process improvements. You will supervise junior engineers, write technical reports, and contribute to IP submissions while collaborating with global teams.
The role requires strong experimental design, data analysis, and communication skills; international travel and occasional shift work are possible.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of thin film deposition techniques, plasma systems and high vacuum technology.
- Experience with computer simulation methods.
- Ability to design experiments and analyse data to identify solutions quickly.
- Good analytical skills including metrology such as SEM.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Formal degree in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science with related work experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and supervise junior engineers.
- Write technical reports for internal and external use; review literature.
- Prepare IP submissions and engage with other business units.
- Develop and review process specifications; advise KLA field teams and Newport team.
- Take on Project Management tasks; coordinate with other teams.
- Travel internationally; may include occasional shift work.
