Job summary

KLA, via its SPTS division in Newport, UK, is seeking a multidisciplinary engineer to support Alpha & Beta systems and retrofits, handling electrical, electronic and mechanical aspects of PVD semiconductor equipment. You will work with global teams, travel internationally around 50% of the time, and contribute to design, integration and diagnostics.

You will learn from the engineering team, support calibration and diagnostics, and collaborate with specialists to meet tight, regulated industry

Responsibilities

• Maintaining, developing, and improving PVD semiconductor process equipment hardware.
• Building and fault finding in new designs in the factory as part of our PLC process.
• Installation and fault finding of new products at customer sites.
• Reporting back to the factory on improvements and customer requirements.
• Improve serviceability of new designs.
• Testing and compliance of machines to international standards.
• Technical report writing.
• Planning and executing hardware testing, validation, and performance characterisation.
• Working with process engineers to optimise hardware performance for reliability and process capability.
• Supporting technology development programmes from early concept through to customer‑ready.
