Neos Recruitment Ltd in Andover is seeking a Senior Lead Project Manager to lead a team of Project Managers and Engineers and oversee the successful delivery of high-value, technically complex projects.

Reporting to the Operations Manager – Projects, you will coordinate across Technical/Design, Sales, Engineering and Finance to ensure on-time delivery, adherence to specifications and sustained client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience within a relevant technical/project environment.
• Experience delivering complex projects valued £150k–£5m.
• Strong people leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
• Solid understanding of construction technical delivery and QHSE controls.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of Project Managers and Engineers.
• Provide senior-level support and decision-making across project delivery.
• Attend technical, commercial and contractual handover meetings.
• Support Project Managers with procurement, planning and delivery.
• Ensure compliance with project processes including variations and RAMS.
• Coordinate between Technical/Design and Engineering to meet customer specs.
• Drive high standards of project performance, quality and customer service.
• Mentor and develop Project Managers and wider team.
• Identify and implement improvements across the Projects department.

Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm, Friday 8:00am–4:30pm

The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established specialist in critical power, standby power and energy systems, with over 40 years' experience supplying, installing, hiring and maintaining generators, UPS systems, switchgear and associated critical power infrastructure.

The Role

Due to continued growth within their Capital Projects division, they are looking for an experienced Lead Project Manager to lead a team of Project Managers and Engineers while overseeing the successful delivery of complex technical projects.

This is a senior position suited to someone who combines strong people and project management experience with a technical understanding of generators and critical power systems.

Reporting to the Operations Manager – Projects, you will lead the Project Management function across multiple complex projects, working closely with Technical/Design, Sales, Engineering, Commercial and Finance teams.

Projects typically range from £150k to £5m in value.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of Project Managers and Engineers.
• Provide senior-level support and decision-making across project delivery.
• Attend technical, commercial and contractual handover meetings.
• Support Project Managers with procurement, planning and delivery.
• Ensure compliance with project processes including variations, payment notifications, programme management, RAMS, Health & Safety and design meetings.
• Coordinate between Technical/Design, Project Management and Engineering teams to ensure designs are completed on time and meet customer specifications.
• Drive high standards of project performance, quality and customer service.
• Mentor and develop Project Managers and support wider team development.
• Take responsibility for the technical, quality and financial performance of projects.
• Identify and implement improvements across the Projects department.
• Work with the wider management team to ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification and to agreed quality standards.
• Review and improve the supply chain.
• Support talent identification and development.
• Act as a strong ambassador for the Capital Projects division and wider business.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

• 10+ years' experience within a relevant technical/project environment.
• Proven experience delivering complex projects typically valued between £150k and £5m.
• Strong people management and leadership experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong understanding of the construction industry and technical project delivery.
• Experience managing design documentation and QHSE processes and controls.
• Strong commercial awareness, financial control and risk management skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong planning, organisation and decision-making ability.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Full right to work in the UK.

Critical Power Experience

• Strong experience within the critical power / standby power industry is highly desirable, ideally with exposure to diesel generators, UPS systems, switchgear, CHP, emergency power systems or associated electrical infrastructure.

Desirable Qualifications

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.
• CSCS, SSSTS or SMSTS.
• Electrical or Management qualification.
• Recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2.
