Job summary

Elgin Energy, a growing leader in utility-scale solar PV and energy storage, seeks a Senior Project Engineering Lead. You will manage a team of around five Project Engineers while continuing to lead technical delivery on a portfolio of projects.

You will balance people management with hands-on engineering across the full development-to-energisation lifecycle, setting standards, coaching engineers, and ensuring value, risk, and schedule are optimised.

Qualifications

• The candidate will have a minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering.
• At least 5 years’ experience in utility-scale solar PV and/or BESS projects across dev, design and construction.
• Experience leading a team of engineers with performance management and workload coordination.
• Strong knowledge of PV tech, grid connections, energy yield, shading, MV/HV procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and line-manage a team of approximately five Project Engineers.
• Provide hands-on project engineering across the full lifecycle from development to energisation.
• Set technical standards and mentor junior engineers.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align engineering with commercial objectives.
