Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking an External Project Engineer for a large expansion at a manufacturing centre in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. Role covers from design through commissioning and start-up in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.

Requires 5+ years on-site field engineering, strong stakeholder management, and knowledge of hygienic design and safety standards; CAD and MS Project proficiency is essential. Hybrid options may arise during initial phases with on-site work during installation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of on-site field engineering experience.
• 3+ years as Project Engineer on similar-scale projects.
• Experience auditing designs from third-party firms.
• Knowledge of hygienic design and food safety standards (HACCP, GMP).

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, layout, and engineering management for process areas.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers on custom designs and modifications.
• Draft and review P&IDs, PFDs and mass/energy balances to standards.
• Review electrical schematics and control architectures for compliance.
• Prepare URS, FDS, SOWs and equipment data sheets for tender packages.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets and on-site installation.
• Plan FAT/SAT, ramp-up and final handover with stakeholders.
