Job summary

The Financial Times is seeking a Principal Engineer – Corporate Technology to lead senior engineering efforts across enterprise platforms such as Oracle Fusion and Workday, defining the engineering strategy and owning technical delivery across People, Finance and Procurement.

You will mentor Engineering Leads, set standards, and drive modernisation while partnering with Architecture, Security and Data to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive background in senior engineering leadership across multiple enterprise platforms.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise SaaS ecosystems and integration.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion, Workday or similar ERP systems.
• Expertise in APIs, data flows and cloud technologies.
• Proven track record of leading transformation programmes.
• Ability to define ownership and sustainable operating models.

Responsibilities

• Define engineering strategy for Corporate Technology and convert strategy into priorities and roadmaps.
• Provide senior technical direction across platforms, data flows and integrations.
• Establish standards, guardrails and patterns focusing on security, reliability and cost.
• Ensure clear accountability for platform engineering, operation and improvement.
• Mentor and develop Engineering Leads and senior engineers.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Data and Product on roadmaps and investments.
