Job summary

Willmott Dixon is seeking a dynamic Preconstruction Project Manager (Bid Manager) to join our Midlands region. Based in our Birmingham office, you will lead the preconstruction bid process and manage internal and external resources to deliver bids on time, within budget and to the highest quality.

You will oversee two-stage/negotiated tenders ranging from 10m to 100m across Education, Leisure, Health, Blue Light, transport and Commercial sectors, while driving sustainability, risk management and

Qualifications

• Experience managing diverse technical input and leading bid/PSCA processes.
• Background in construction bid management or preconstruction teams preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with stakeholders across teams.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and lead a bid team including estimators, design professionals, MEPs and external consultants.
• Develop and implement the commercial strategy for bids.
• Manage customer expectations through health checks and professional stakeholder engagement.
• Develop project strategies to meet sustainability objectives.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and opportunities, and drive corrective actions.
• Support continuous professional development and drive a one-team transition from preconstruction to operations.
