Job summary

Willmott Dixon in Birmingham is seeking a dynamic Preconstruction Project Manager (Bid Manager) to lead our Midlands bid activity. Based in our Birmingham office and working on a hybrid basis, you will drive two-stage/negotiated tenders from £10m to £100m across Education, Leisure, Health, Blue Light, transport and Commercial sectors.

You will build and motivate a bid team, shape commercial strategies, manage customer expectations, and ensure timely, quality outcomes while continually improving

Qualifications

• Experience in managing diverse technical input and leading bid/PCSA processes.
• Background in construction roles such as operations, planning, commercial, design or estimating.
• Ability to coordinate inception workshops and understand customer 'Why' to inform bids.

Responsibilities

• Motivating and leading a bid team including estimators, design professionals, MEP and planners.
• Developing the commercial strategy with the team.
• Managing customer expectations through health checks and professional relations.
• Developing project strategies to meet sustainability objectives.
• Monitoring progress, managing risks and opportunities, and taking corrective actions.
• Ensuring continuous professional development and driving best practices.
• Maintaining a seamless transition from preconstruction to operations.
• Coordinating inception workshops with customers to capture 'Why'.
