Job summary

Humand Talent is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design precision mechanisms from concept to production in Oxfordshire. You will lead mechanical design efforts, develop compact mechanisms and apply tolerance analysis, GD&T and FEA to validate performance.

The role collaborates with suppliers and manufacturing partners and drives design reviews across multiple projects. The ideal candidate has strong 3D CAD (SolidWorks), experience with metals and polymers, and ownership of technically

Qualifications

• Precision mechanical design experience with mechanism development.
• Ability to take products from concept through to production and manufacturing.
• Strong 3D CAD skills, ideally SolidWorks.
• Tolerance analysis, GD&T and design for manufacture.
• Experience with small-scale mechanisms, controlled movement or repeatable positioning.
• Experience with metals, polymers and precision manufacturing processes.
• FEA or hand calculations for validation.
• Ownership of technically complex engineering workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from early concepts through to detailed design and manufacture.
• Develop compact mechanisms involving motion, adjustment, positioning, linkages, bearings, gears or flexures.
• Apply tolerance analysis, GD&T, calculations and FEA to validate performance.
• Solve challenges around materials, friction, wear, joining methods and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with technical specialists, suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Lead design reviews and uphold high engineering standards across multiple projects.
• Help improve designs for reliable, scalable production.
