Job summary

North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced nurse to lead our Pre Assessment Team across the North Tees and Hartlepool units. The post holder will supervise clinical activity, deliver high-quality pre-assessment care and support a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires current UK nursing registration, relevant leadership experience, and a strong background in pre-assessment procedures and NICE guidelines. Units operate Monday–Friday 8:00am–6:00pm.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with degree and current UK registration.

Responsibilities

• Undertake nursing procedures in line with Trust and NICE guidelines for Pre Assessment.
• Assess ASA grade and suitability for surgery from patient data and records.
• Recognise patient deterioration and escalate appropriately.
• Refer to GP to monitor and manage pre-existing or new conditions prior to surgery.
• Provide clinical supervision to staff and lead on clinical audits within the area.
