Job summary

James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for two full-time Pre-Assessment clinician roles in Great Yarmouth. You will conduct face-to-face and telephone assessments to ensure patients are optimized for surgery.

Join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team with full training and sign-off prior to clinics, and contribute to safe, efficient pre-operative pathways.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current practice (NMC).
• Experience in pre-operative assessment is desirable.
• able to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face and telephone pre-operative assessments.
• Manage caseload of elective pre-operative assessment clinics.
• Prepare patients for their elective surgery.
• Promote pre-operative health optimisation.
• Record wellbeing questionnaires and assess risk factors.
• Obtain bloods, MRSA swabs and ECG as required; document results.
• Escalate abnormal findings to the team.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic Pre-Assessment team, currently implementing some exciting changes to expand the service.

There are 2 full time roles available. You will be expected to work in both of the pre-assessment clinics within the hospital. You will work both independently and as part of a team conducting both face to face and telephone assessments to a high standard. You will provide information to elective patients and ensure safe and efficient pre-operative assessment, working within the multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidates will be provided with full training and comprehensive sign off prior to allocation of clinics.
