Job summary

Fife Council in Leven invites applications for a Senior Practitioner in the Mother and Child Assessment & Support House. You will lead a residential team, provide expert observations and develop personalised support plans to strengthen parenting capacity while keeping mothers and babies together.

You will oversee staff rotas, maintain high standards of care, and collaborate with multi‑agency partners. A focus on safeguarding, trauma‑informed practice and PVG/SSSC compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Significant experience with young people and families affected by adverse childhood experiences.
• Experience leading staff teams in residential or similar settings; potential to develop.
• Strong understanding of attachment theory and trauma-informed practice.
• Post-qualifying awards or willingness to work towards such awards.
• Registration with the SSSC within six months of start date.
• Full driving licence preferred or willingness to travel across Fife.
• Commitment to professional standards set by the SSSC and Care Inspectorate.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership within the Mother and Child Assessment & Support House.
• Oversee rotas, supervision, attendance management and team meetings.
• Chair meetings and ensure delivery of high-quality care.
• Undertake quality assurance tasks including care plans, audits and regulatory requirements.
• Lead observations and assessments to support parenting capacity evaluations.
• Collaborate with multi‑agency partners and represent the service at forums.
• Uphold safeguarding and ensure PVG/SSSC compliance.
