Job summary

The King's Academy is seeking a Lead Practitioner in Mathematics to enthuse pupils with strong subject knowledge, energy and dedication. You will work alongside the Head of Mathematics to develop teaching and learning across the department and contribute to high standards of attainment.

The role involves planning and delivering departmental CPD, creating schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives, and building a positive, well-resourced learning environment for all

Responsibilities

• work alongside the Head of Mathematics to develop teaching and learning in the department
• plan, deliver and review departmental CPD to improve practice in the department
• develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives
• facilitate learning by establishing effective relationship with pupils
• maintain organised learning resources
• create a positive learning environment in the classroom
• develop and foster the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of children
• assess and record progress and prepare pupils for national tests
• link pupils' knowledge to earlier learning and develop ways to encourage it further, challenging and inspiring pupils to help them deepen their knowledge and understanding.

The successful candidate will:

• work alongside the Head of Mathematics to develop teaching and learning in the department
• plan, deliver and review departmental CPD to improve practice in the department
• develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives
• facilitate learning by establishing effective relationship with pupils
• maintain organised learning resources
• create a positive learning environment in the classroom
