Job summary

HEART Academies Trust in Bedford is seeking a Lead Teacher and Practitioner for the Business department at Bedford Academy. You will provide strategic vision, direction and leadership for the Business curriculum across GCSE and BTEC, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement.

You will collaborate with Business Leads from other Bedford schools to raise provision across the Borough and to ensure BA results stay above national averages.

Qualifications

• Degree and QTS with ongoing professional development.

• Successful teaching experience in Key Stages 4 and 5.
• Knowledge of curriculum across key stages and ability to teach to high standards.

• Experience teaching diverse abilities including SEND and PP.
• Experience contributing to initiatives improving learning and teaching.

Responsibilities

• Be Lead Teacher and Practitioner for all Business courses run at BA.
• Provide strategic vision, direction and leadership for the Business department across GCSE, BTEC and future developments.
• Develop partnerships with Business Leads from other Bedford Schools to improve Business provision Borough-wide.
• Strive to ensure Business course results are consistently above national averages.
• Support Teaching and Learning of staff within areas requested by SLT and through line management.
