Job Description:

Lead Physician

Bupa Health Centre, Solihull B91 3RT

Working 3 days per week

Role Purpose

To provide leadership and support for doctors in your allocated Bupa Health Centre, working collaboratively with other members of the management team to ensure provision of high standards of clinical practice and customer service. This may include cross cover of other Bupa Health Centres, onsite clinics, or remote services based on business needs.

Responsibilities
  1. Delivery of adult health assessments and private GP work at Bupa Health Centres, on-site or remotely.
  2. Provide clinical input into the review of customer feedback, complaints, incidents, and risks.
  3. Oversee the provision of health assessments and private GP work by doctors within the centre or remote services.
  4. Partner with the Resource team or local administrative team and centre managers for diary management and clinical scheduling.
  5. Investigate issues to ensure clinical safety is always upheld.
  6. Conduct clinical audits as per the schedule and liaise with the Clinical Health Assessment Leadership Team (CHALT).
  7. Lead the implementation of clinical policies and procedures under guidance from the Clinical Leadership Team.
  8. Ensure Medicines Management policy is implemented, including service line/resus policy drugs.
  9. Support the centre (or remote service) and doctors in preparing for CQC visits.
  10. Provide clinical guidance to staff and colleagues as required.
  11. Lead mock scenarios and emergency procedures within the centre or remotely.
  12. Support the Centre Manager/remote manager to improve service performance and understand financial targets.
Qualifications & Training
  • GMC registered with a license to practice and on the GP register.
  • Up-to-date GMC appraisal and revalidation.
  • On performers list with recent NHS appraisal.
  • MRCGP qualification.
  • Active in NHS General Practice.
  • Member of a Medical Defence Organisation.
  • Significant postgraduate experience in General Practice.
  • Letter of Competence Intrauterine Techniques (LoC IUT).
  • Current BLS training certificate.
  • Trainer experience, partner, or principal.
  • Current Safeguarding Level 3 training certificate.
  • Experience as an appraiser, mentor, and in leadership roles.
