Role Purpose

To provide leadership and support for doctors in your allocated Bupa Health Centre, (or on-site clinic or within remote services), working collaboratively with other members of the management team to ensure provision of high standards of clinical practice and customer service. Where there is a business need, this may include cross-cover of other Bupa Health Centres, onsite clinics, or remote services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of Adult Health Assessments and private GP work (for customers of all ages) at Bupa Health Centres, on-site or remotely.
  • Provide clinical input into the review of customer feedback comments, complaints, incidents, and risks.
  • Oversee the provision of health assessments and private GP work by the doctors within the centre or remote services.
  • Partner with the Bupa Resource team or local administrative team, and centre managers for diary management and clinical scheduling.
  • Investigate issues arising, ensuring clinical safety is always maintained.
  • Conduct clinical audits as per the schedule, liaising with the Clinical Health Assessment Leadership Team (CHALT).
  • Lead the implementation of clinical policies and procedures under guidance from the Clinical Leadership Team.
  • Ensure Medicines Management policy is followed, particularly regarding service line/resus policy drugs.
  • Support the centre (or remote service) and doctors in preparing for CQC visits.
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to staff and other LPs as needed.
  • Lead on emergency clinical procedures and mock scenarios.
  • Support performance improvements and understand the centre/remote operating profit (AOP), assisting in achieving business and financial targets.

Qualifications & Training

  • GMC registered with a license to practice and on the GP register.
  • Up-to-date GMC appraisal and revalidation.
  • Active in NHS General Practice with recent appraisal.
  • MRCGP qualification.
  • Member of a Medical Defence Organisation.
  • Postgraduate experience in General Practice.
  • Letter of Competence Intrauterine Techniques (LoC IUT).
  • Current BLS certificate.
  • Experience as a trainer, partner, or principal.
  • Safeguarding Level 3 certification.
  • Experience as an appraiser, mentor, or in leadership roles.
