Job summary

Starling Bank is seeking a mid-to-senior Information Security Architect to own cryptography roadmaps and secure cloud-native platforms. You will lead PQC initiatives, drive crypto-agility, and guide design reviews across AWS/GCP environments.

The role emphasizes collaboration with software engineers, cloud architects, and security operations, embedding security into the development lifecycle while advancing Starling’s crypto strategy.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as an Information Security Architect or Senior Security Engineer in cloud environments.
• Deep cryptography expertise including PKI, HSMs, key management.
• Knowledge of PQC standards and crypto-agility strategies.
• Strong communication and ability to translate risks to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end security solutions for cloud-native apps and modern banking platforms.
• Develop and lead the Post-Quantum Cryptography transition roadmap.
• Perform threat modeling and risk assessments on platform architectures.
• Define cryptographic management standards (key lifecycle, HSMs, cipher suites).
• Review RFCs/ADR docs to ensure security guardrails and regulatory alignment.
• Mentor teams on cryptographic implementations and data protection.
