Job summary

Starling Bank is seeking a mid-to-senior Information Security Architect to own cryptography strategy, drive Post-Quantum Cryptography initiatives, and shape secure cloud architectures in AWS and GCP. You will guide PKI, HSMs, key management, and crypto agility while partnering with engineering to integrate security into the development lifecycle.

You will lead cryptographic assessments, design crypto-inventory, and deliver pragmatic security patterns that scale with the bank’s fintech platforms

Qualifications

• Proven track record in an Information Security Architect or Senior Security Engineering role designing secure, distributed systems within modern cloud environments (AWS/GCP).
• Strong understanding of post-quantum cryptography concepts, PKI, HSMs, and crypto-inventory management.
• Experience performing threat modelling and risk assessments on complex architectures.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end security solutions for cloud-native apps and modern banking platforms.
• Develop and drive the Post-Quantum Cryptography transition roadmap.
• Lead threat modelling and risk assessments across platform architectures.
• Define enterprise cryptographic standards (key lifecycle, cipher suites, etc.).
• Mentor teams on cryptographic implementations and data protection.
