Job summary

TGW Group in Market Harborough seeks a Team Leader PLC Technical Specialist to lead TGW control systems across customer sites in Northern Europe. You will guide PLC Specialists, coordinate improvements and ensure service delivery targets are met.

The role requires travel and a strong engineering background in electrical/mechanical systems. You will be involved in training, supporting site management, and driving continuous improvements in TGW intralogistics solutions.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship trained with qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Basic understanding of PLC controls (Siemens).
• High level understanding of control systems including networking hardware and motion control via inverters/servo drives.
• Self-motivation to work independently and in a team.
• Strong commitment to Environment, Health & Safety culture.
• Experience with internal/external customers and TGW intralogistics automation.
• Proactive in fault finding and diagnostics.
• Ability to decide under pressure and show initiative.
• Proven PLC programming experience (Siemens).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and panel drawings – E Plan.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve technical issues, support customers and internal teams.
• Lead root cause analysis when required.
• Spread and apply continuous improvement ideas across TGW portfolio.
• Identify opportunities to add value and revenue for TGW.
• Drive improvements in service processes and team performance.
• Deliver department services meeting stakeholder expectations.
• Provide clear feedback to stakeholders.
• Develop training materials for end users and colleagues.
• Support recruitment, induction and onboarding of new team members.
• Manage workload and resources to meet deadlines and customer needs.
• Hold monthly one-to-one performance reviews.
