Job summary

Think Legal Recruitment is working with a leading international law firm in Manchester to recruit an Experienced Planning Lawyer for its Planning, Infrastructure & Energy practice. The role focuses on major DCOs, energy infrastructure, and transport projects, offering ownership from inception to completion.

Ideal candidate will have 4+ PQE in planning/infrastructure law, with substantial experience in environmental assessments, compulsory acquisitions, and drafting agreements.

Qualifications

• 4+ PQE in planning/infrastructure law.
• Experience handling DCOs and energy infrastructure projects.
• Ability to negotiate with objectors and draft agreements from scratch.
• Experience supervising junior lawyers and managing matters end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Run infrastructure consenting projects with a high degree of autonomy.
• Oversee compulsory acquisition and related negotiations.
• Lead Environmental Impact Assessment work and related approvals.
• Draft and negotiate agreements with objectors and stakeholders.
• Manage applications through to examinations and inquiries, ensuring timeliness.
