Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a registered Pharmacy Technician to support our Technical Services team in delivering safe, cost-effective medicine supply and aseptically prepared products. You will deputise for Senior Technicians, supervise technicians and assistants, plan rosters, and identify service improvements in line with modernisation initiatives.

The role offers leadership opportunities and exposure to innovative NHS systems, including ePrescribing and medicines

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Services; must be approved for registration with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
BTec Accuracy Checking Technician qualification or working towards.

Responsibilities

Deputise for the Specialist and Senior Technicians in their absence.
Supervise technicians and assistants involved in the delivery of the service and medicines risk management.
Plan staffing requirements; supervise the technician and assistant rota.
Support the development of extended technician roles and technician-led services.
Act as a role-model and provide safe, clinically effective and cost-efficient use of medicines.
Support governance and medicines risk management locally.
