Job summary

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Patient Services Team within the Medicines Optimisation and Pharmacy Services department at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced Pharmacy Technician to take on the pivotal role of Lead Pharmacy Technician Team Manager.

About the Role:

You will work closely with the Pharmacy Patient Services Manager to ensure the effective delivery of medication supply services across the Trust. Your role will involve:

  1. Leading and managing a team of pharmacy technicians and support staff.
  2. Supporting service transformation to meet evolving patient and operational needs.
  3. Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory frameworks related to medicines supply.
  4. Championing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and care.
  5. Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, patient-focused pharmacy services.

Main duties of the job

About the role

Support the PSM in developing and delivering comprehensive, high-quality pharmaceutical services within available resources, contributing to the Trust's strategic direction. Deputise for the PSM as needed.

Manage the Specialist Pharmacy Technicians and their teams within the medicine supply service, providing effective leadership and motivation.

Participate in all HR processes, including recruitment, appraisal, grievance, and disciplinary procedures for staff across the Trust, implementing outcomes in collaboration with the PSM and HR Managers.

Ensure adequate levels of trained technical and support staff are available on each site to maintain effective dispensary and clinical trials services.

Support Technicians in managing leave and acting as sickness absence manager for relevant staff.
