Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive, and forward-thinking Pharmacy Technician with an interest in education and training to join our team on a 9-month secondment.

Working as part of our pharmacy Education and Training team, the successful candidate will engage with the wider pharmacy department to ensure high-quality, robust, and innovative education and training is delivered. The role offers great career development opportunities for the right person.

You will act as the lead facilitator for the Pharmacy Apprenticeships Standard Level 2 and Level 3, and will lead in identifying, training, and supporting present and future extended roles for Pharmacy Assistants (ATO's) and Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPTs).

Main duties of the job
  • Participate in reviewing and updating departmental induction, training, and validation materials.
  • Maintain and develop induction plans for all staff groups.
  • Perform operational duties (20% of role), which may include dispensary and/or clinical pharmacy services, working at ward level to deliver excellent medicine supply services.
  • Involve in education and training of technical aspects of other pharmacy and healthcare professionals.

Applications are welcomed from registered technicians passionate about education and training in a hospital setting. The role requires innovation and progressiveness in developing pharmacy assistant technical officers, pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy services. You should be an accredited accuracy checker or on course to become one.

Person Specification

Essential qualifications: BTEC/Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Services or equivalent, GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician.
