Job summary

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 8b Principal Pharmacist (Medicine) to lead the clinical pharmacy service for medicine and related specialties. The post involves overseeing a large pharmacy team and guiding immunoglobulin provision and IVIG governance.

You will drive service development, maintain high standards of patient care and manage high-cost medicines while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across wards and specialties.

Qualifications

• Lead the clinical pharmacy service for acute medicine and medical specialties.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver quality improvement and service development.
• Experience in managing a team of pharmacists and support staff.
• Understanding of funding streams for medicines and high-cost drugs.
• Strong communication and patient-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical pharmacy service for acute medicine and specialties including rheumatology, dermatology, respiratory and immunology.
• Act as lead pharmacist for immunoglobulins and secretary for the IVIG Committee.
• Develop pathways for patient care within medicine/medical specialties.
• Oversee ward-based clinical pharmacy services, medicines reconciliation and discharge processing.
