Job summary

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a pharmacist leader to head the Pharmacy Education and Training team. You will drive continuous learning, champion digital and informatics-enabled practice, and foster a research-driven culture to transform patient care.

The role covers medicines optimisation for Children and Families services and partnerships with local higher education institutions, with opportunities to develop governance and strategic collaborations.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent.
• UK pharmacist registration with no GPhC restrictions.
• Extensive post-registration experience in relevant UK sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the pharmacy education and training team, driving continuous learning and professional development.
• Champion new ways of working with the Head of Pharmacy Digital Improvement & Innovation, using digital and informatics technologies.
• Support the department to become research-driven, collaborating with stakeholders to innovate and influence practice.
• Develop the knowledge, skills, values and behaviours of the pharmacy and medicines optimisation workforce.
• Provide medicines optimisation advice to the Children and Families Care Group, including medicine value programmes using data to cut waste.
• Develop pharmacy and medicines optimisation governance to assure medicines safety to the Director.
• Support the transition to a research and innovation active department with links to local higher education institutions.
• Identify collaboration, commercial and strategic partnerships with the Trust's Research and Innovation Department.
