Job summary

North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust in Warrington is seeking a Lead Pharmacist for Paediatrics with Antimicrobial Stewardship. This Band 8a role offers leadership across paediatric pharmacy services and contributes to AMS strategy, working with medical teams to optimise medicines and ensure safe care for children.

The post is permanent and full-time (37.5 hours per week), with on-call, weekend, and late-shift rotas.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
• Registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Specialist knowledge via postgraduate diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience.
• Registered independent prescriber with the GPhC.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical pharmacy leadership for paediatric services across the Trust.
• Collaborate with paediatric teams to optimise medicines management and patient outcomes.
• Lead development and review of clinical guidelines and pathways for paediatric medicines and AMS.
• Contribute to medicines safety, audits and quality improvement in paediatric and AMS services.
• Provide education and training on paediatric medicines and antimicrobials.
