Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for the Paediatric Allergy & Asthma CNS at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital. This role leads the allergy provision and supports the MDT while educating the wider nursing and medical teams to deliver family-centred care.

With support from lead Consultants and the CNS team, the post offers opportunities to expand clinical skills, participate in research and develop services to improve patient care within a busy, supportive Trust.

Qualifications

• Registered pediatric nurse with UK registration (RSCN/RN child or equivalent).
• Paediatric Allergy training (PAT1) and Tier 3 Asthma training.
• Experience in allergy services and MDT leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead nurse for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for children with complex allergies.
• Perform and interpret skin prick testing and report results to MDT.
• Perform and interpret spirometry; liaise on treatment plans.
• Educate families using evidence-based practice.
• Develop allergy clinical nurse specialist clinics with the MDT.
