Job summary

AUREOS INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES LIMITED is seeking a skilled Chargehand Linesman to lead our overhead line construction and maintenance team in Bathgate, Scotland. The role combines hands-on technical work with supervision, ensuring safe installation, repair and maintenance of overhead power lines and distribution systems on project sites.

You will act as the bridge between site management and field crew, directing daily activities, enforcing safety standards and reporting on progress and quality

Qualifications

• Fully qualified overhead linesman with recognized industry certifications (e.g., City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Power Engineering).
• Minimum 5 years in overhead line construction and maintenance; 1–2 years in chargehand/supervisory roles.
• Deep knowledge of HV/LV overhead line systems, live-line procedures, rigging and sling techniques.
• Ability to work at height, in confined spaces, outdoors in varying weather.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for team mentoring and client liaison.
• Valid first aid and site safety management training.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate on-site team, assign daily tasks and monitor progress to meet timelines.
• Oversee installation, tensioning, sagging and termination of conductors and hardware.
• Enforce health and safety regulations, conduct toolbox talks and risk assessments.
• Inspect work to ensure compliance with specs and maintain logs and timesheets.
• Diagnose faults and coordinate rapid repairs during outages or emergencies.
• Coordinate tools, vehicles and materials and ensure equipment is maintained.
