Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 7 Team Lead Occupational Therapist for the Surgical Therapy Team based at Royal Liverpool Hospital. The role leads OT across Urology, Colorectal, Hepato-Biliary, Upper GI, Ophthalmology and General Surgery with a focus on frailty, independence and safe discharge.

You will provide specialist assessment, treatment planning and leadership, supporting Band 5/6 staff and students while driving quality improvement and service

Qualifications

• Ability to implement change.

Responsibilities

• Undertake assessment of patients with complex presentations using advanced clinical reasoning.
• Deliver and evaluate treatment programmes across physical, cognitive, perceptual, psychological and social functioning.
• Supervise and educate Band 5/6 OTs, therapy assistants and students.
• Lead day-to-day running of the OT team and disseminate information.
• Participate in recruitment and staff development under guidance of Therapy Lead.
• Contribute to service development, governance, audits and quality improvement initiatives.
