Job summary

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• Experience with EPR/Medisight and Excel.
• Good presentation skills and PowerPoint for teaching.
• High level of literacy.
• Adaptable and flexible to service needs.
• Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and staff.
• Experience working solo with initiative.
• Member of British and Irish Orthoptic Society.
• Management and leadership experience within the NHS.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in a sub-specialist area of Orthoptics under the Professional Lead for Orthoptics.
• Lead on departmental audit and research.
• Deliver core orthoptic clinics across Gloucester Royal and Cheltenham General Hospitals.
• Work in complex ocular motility, paediatric and neuro-visual field clinics.
• Provide intravitreal injections within the Medical Retina service.
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and plan workload.
• Attend departmental meetings and contribute to audits and governance.
