Job summary
ARCA Consulting is seeking an experienced Transmission OHL Linesman (LE1) to deliver safe and efficient overhead line construction across UK projects. The role involves hands-on installation, maintenance and dismantling, with leadership to LE2 operatives on site.
Ideal candidates will have strong transmission experience, RAMS proficiency, and a full UK driving licence, with a track record of working to high safety standards.
Qualifications
- Experience as LE1 operative in transmission/distribution.
- Proficient in OHL construction across 132kV–400kV projects.
- Strong RAMS, working at height and safe systems of work.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Able to mentor LE2 operatives and trainees.
- Safety-focused with excellent attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Carry out OHL construction, installation, maintenance, refurbishment and dismantling across transmission projects.
- Support the OHL Foreman with daily site planning, coordination and delivery.
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with RAMS, drawings, specifications and HSEQ requirements.
- Monitor quality, site records, equipment and programme issues, escalating concerns where required.
- Lead by example on health, safety and environmental standards across site activities.
- Support, mentor and develop LE2 Operatives and Trainees.
- Work professionally and collaboratively with clients, subcontractors and wider project teams.
