Job description

Come and join one of the UK's largest providers of complex care. We proudly employ over 4,000+ people — regardless of your experience, we have roles for everyone.

At Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, we don’t just deliver therapy — we transform lives. As our Lead Occupational Therapist, you’ll take a key leadership role in a specialist service supporting adults with acquired brain injury and complex neurological conditions. Working within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team (MDT), you’ll lead in providing innovative, person-centred rehabilitation that helps individuals regain independence, confidence, and a sense of identity.

You won’t just manage a team — you’ll mentor, guide, and inspire. You’ll work directly with patients and their families to create meaningful therapy goals, develop complex treatment plans, and empower your team to deliver high standards of care.

One recent success involved a patient whose recovery was enhanced by a walking football initiative. A passionate football fan before injury, the patient struggled to re-engage with life. An Occupational Therapist explored options, connecting with the York City FC Foundation for walking football sessions nearby. The outcome? The patient experienced renewed motivation, improved balance, and reconnected with his community. This exemplifies the impact you can make daily.

As Lead Occupational Therapist, your clinical expertise will shape our rehabilitation approach, focusing on individualised care that respects each person’s values, abilities, and goals. You’ll lead by example, foster professional growth, and promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and compassion.

If you’re ready to lead a forward-thinking Occupational Therapy service that changes lives through creativity, compassion, and clinical excellence, APPLY NOW!

What you'll be working:

Our standard hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday. We value work-life balance and are open to discussing flexible working arrangements to suit your needs.

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborate with patients and families to encourage participation in therapy
  • Supervise, teach, and appraise junior staff, students, and MDT members
