Job summary

YMCA Norfolk is seeking a Nursery Room Lead (Maternity Cover) for Muddy Puddles Nursery in Norwich. The role leads a team of practitioners, ensuring high‑quality early years care and education in line with EYFS.

You will collaborate with the Nursery Manager, support staff development, and foster strong relationships with families. The position is a fixed term for 1 year, 38 hours per week, with a pay of £14.96 per hour (£29,560.96 per annum).

Qualifications

• Must have a genuine passion for working with children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Knowledge of the EYFS framework is required.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Flexibility and a positive attitude are important.
• Level 3 Early Years qualification is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of nursery practitioners.
• Oversee planning and delivery of activities in line with the EYFS.
• Support staff development and supervision.
• Build positive relationships with families and carers.
• Contribute to the smooth day‑to‑day running of the nursery.
