Job summary

ARO is seeking a Lead Network Engineer (Tier 3) in Liverpool, a hybrid role combining hands-on engineering with technical assurance and architecture guidance. You will work from the SDS NOC with two days remote, supporting NHS, clinical and public-sector networks across Liverpool and Runcorn data centres.

You’ll mentor Tier 1/2 engineers, drive design and migration plans, and ensure compliance with ISO 27001, NHS DSPT and ITIL practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in senior network engineering, consultancy or technical delivery in critical hosted-services environments.
• Expert knowledge of enterprise routing, switching, firewalls and secure connectivity.
• Experience with Cisco IOS/NX-OS, Fortinet FortiGate/FortiManager and Extreme platforms.

Responsibilities

• Act as Tier 3 escalation point for complex incidents and changes across SDS networks.
• Lead end-to-end ownership of escalated issues with clear records and timely resolution.
• Drive major incident responses, design reviews and change planning for SDS networks.
